It is Time for The Awakening
We are now almost 2,000 years past the time Jesus was raised from the dead
and ascended unto the throne of God. He did not leave us without help nor
without a direct link to Himself, He sent the Holy Spirit and gave us great
power and authority to form one large Body of believers on this earth, that
united we will be His hands and feet to this lost and dying world. Sadly
though many believers do not understand what it means to be part of the Body and
thus the world suffers.
The music group Casting Crowns released a song “If We are the Body” which
chorus says:
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands
healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body Why aren't His
feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
While this might seem a bit rough for some, it opens a rather great question,
“Why is the Body not doing the Works Jesus did”? Many people make excuses,
but in reality there are none other than the Body is sleeping and not taking
their role seriously. EVERY believer has a role, a part in this great Body
of the Christ, but how can the Body function where so much of the Body is
sleeping or going about their own business, not accepting their role?
Awaken unto Revival
We need to awaken unto revival, praying that God will fill our hearts with
passion of restoration and revival. We need to give birth to desire in our
hearts to see the family of God wake up from their slumber and join together as
the one Body of the Christ, that we may be of one common passion, revived and
ready for work, to show the Christ to the world. Revive us God, birth in
our hearts the passion to pull together as a single living Body unto your
glorious work, commanded and directed by you, one Head of the one Body.
Awaken unto Knowledge
We need to awaken unto the knowledge of who God is and to His mighty works.
The time is now to recall in our minds and in our hearts, the God of creation,
the Eternal all mighty, all knowing, all powerful God who has created all
things, who holds all things together, who controls even our next breath, the
one who has allowed himself to be confined to a body of flesh to be mocked,
abused and murdered by his own creation in order to redeem his own creation that
rebelled against Him. As Scriptures say in Romans, “God commends his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” We
need to wake up to the reality of God and walk according to that reality.
Awaken unto Holiness
We need to awaken unto holiness, that we no longer desire the material things
of life, but have our only desire to be more of the presence of God, that while
we have to live in the world, we are no longer of the world, that we may be
truly living stones in the temple of our God witnessing His presence
forevermore. The time is here to wake up and free ourselves from the
bondages of this life and present ourselves holy, a living sacrifice unto God as
the Scripture in Romans says, which is our reasonable service. We need to
remember we have been bought with a price, a great price and our lives are not
our own, we are all called unto service to the one and true living Eternal God
and woe unto us if we continue down the road of a life of complacency.
Awaken unto the Harvest
We need to awaken unto the harvest. No longer is there time to waste as
the harvest rots in fields waiting for someone to come and save it.
We need to earnestly pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send out workers
into the fields and prepare ourselves to go and do the work. We need to
pray the compassion for people will overflow our hearts, that we cannot rest as
long as there are those that are lost who need to be redeemed, who every second
of the day are passing into eternity without the knowledge of God. Let
that heart of compassion drive us to prayer and unto the work.
Wake Up
Oh, people of God, wake up! Stir your hearts, break down your mighty
walls of flesh, tender your hearts before God. The time is coming that the
door will be closed, we must bring in the harvest. We need the presence of
God, His glorious, wonderful presence filling every second of our lives.
Come on people awaken your selves, I plead with you, stir up that first love!
You came to Christ with a passion burning in your heart. Remember that
passion, increase that passion! Oh, that we would hunger for God as much
as we do our next meal or as much as we do for that new Plasma TV, or that new
vehicle, or that new home, or that…
The time is NOW. WAKE UP!
